Healthcare and dental support –

John Mason, Director of Inventory Management at Henry Schein, the world’s largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental and medical practitioners, saw the opportunity to turn unused inventory into a meaningful resource. Instead of letting valuable dental and medical supplies be disposed of, he explored alternative ways to repurpose them for a meaningful cause.  John developed a process to donate surplus stock of essential health care supplies to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and started to collaborate with Hope and Aid Direct.

Since the partnership began, numerous truckloads of high value equipment and consumables – still fully functional and sellable but lacking market demand – have been donated to Hope and Aid Direct. These items have been shipped to our partner in Ukraine, and the program has expanded to Europe, with surplus stock from Henry Schein Spain also sent to Ukraine. Additional shipments from other countries are planned.

“Partnering with Hope and Aid Direct lets us turn excess inventory into a tangible impact. It aligns with our corporate citizenship goals and reduces waste, demonstrating that responsible stewardship of resources can benefit both the environment and the communities we serve.” — John Mason, Director of Inventory Management, Henry Schein.
